Pewter Rowing Cups

This cup is a presentation piece from Sidney Sussex College, the awarding of such cups is a long standing tradition among the College rowing clubs in England. Sidney Sussex College was founded in 1596 by the Lady Frances Sidney, Countess of Sussex, and is a College of the University of Cambridge. Located at the very centre of the City of Cambridge, the College is a small but diverse community including around 350 undergraduate students, 100 graduate students. The college has a long history in rowing competitions and still has a very active rowing club.
